Draw the fence in minutes
The fence layout template starts you with a property boundary, fence runs along three sides, a 6-foot gate opening, and dimension lines. Stretch the boundary to the lot's real size, adjust the runs, and move the gate where the customer wants it.
Use separate lines for each run so you can measure them individually — select any line and its exact length shows in feet and inches.
- Property line and fence runs as measured lines
- Gate openings with width labels
- Corner posts and end posts as labels or circles
- Dimension lines for every run
- Notes for height, style, and material
Fence takeoffs from the drawing
Add the run lengths together for total linear feet, then work your post spacing, panels, rails, and pickets from that. The measure tool doubles as a fence line measurement tool: drag it along any run and the length is documented right on the drawing.
Keep the drawing with the quote. When the customer asks to move a gate or drop a run, update the drawing, re-read the lengths, and re-price in minutes.
Property lines and utilities
A fence drawing is a planning sketch, not a survey. Confirm actual property boundaries before setting posts — a survey or property pins where accuracy matters — and always contact your local utility locate service before digging post holes. SiteBuildHub does not replace official utility locates.
